Lakota Sioux Indian Camp

Here we present a dramatic image of A pretty group at an Indian tent. It was taken in 1891 by Grabill, John C. H., photographer.

The image shows Four Lakota women standing, three holding infants in cradleboards, and a Lakota man on horseback, in front of a tipi, probably on or near Pine Ridge Reservation.

We have created this collection of images primarily to serve as an easy to access educational tool. Contact curator@old-picture.com.
