You are viewing an important image of Colonel John S. Mosby, C.S.A. It was taken between 1860 and 1865.

The picture shows Colonel John S. Mosby, the famous Confederate Raider of the Civil War. He virtulally invented Guerrilla Warfare, and as an old man, was friends with George S. Patton, who was a child. One wonders if Patton's Bold and aggressive fighting style was influenced by childhood stories told him by this famour Rebel Chieftan.
