Tipi

Tipi

Here for your enjoyment is an absorbing photograph of an Indian Woman Stretching Hides in front of her Tipi. It was made in Montana in 1908 by Edward S. Curtis.

The photo illustrates a Crow (Apsaroke) woman stretching a hide that has been secured to the ground by stakes. There is a wonderful view of her tipi in background, and a cliff on her left.

We have compiled this collection of photos mainly to serve as a vital educational resource. Contact curator@old-picture.com.
