Papago Woman

Papago Woman

Here for your enjoyment is an inspiring photograph of Luzi, a Papago Indian Woman. It was taken in 1907 by adventurer Edward S. Curtis.

The photograph shows the woman wrapped in a shawl, and he has a basket on her head. It was common for American Indian Women to transport goods in baskets such as this one on their heads. This is a dramatic image of a beautiful Native American woman.

We have compiled this collection of photos mainly to serve as a vital educational resource. Contact curator@old-picture.com.
