Kwakiutl Woman

Kwakiutl woman

Here we present a rare image of Nakoaktok Chiefs Daughter. It was taken in 1910 by Edward S. Curtis.

The image shows Kwakiutl woman, full-length portrait, seated on a blanket-covered board supported by two wooden carved images representing her slaves, facing front, wearing a hat with metal(?) ornaments, very large earrings and a nose ring.

We have created this collection of images primarily to serve as an easy to access educational tool. Contact curator@old-picture.com.
