Indian Petroglyph

Indian Petroglyph

Here we present an historic image of Tsagiglalal, Guardian Nihhluidih. It was taken in 1910 by Edward S. Curtis.

The image shows Tsagiglalal, or "She Who Watches". This petroglyph has the face of a woman, painted on a rock along the Columbia River near the Dalles. It was created by the Wishram/Tlakluit Indians of the Chinook nation.

We have created this collection of images primarily to serve as an easy to access educational tool. Contact curator@old-picture.com.
