Indian Offering

Indian Offering

Here for your perusal is an original photograph of an Indian Spiritual Offering. It was created in 1927 by Edward S. Curtis.

The photograph illustrates a Barechested Tewa man, standing high on a cliff, arms stretched before him as he sprinkles cornmeal as an offering at the start of a day, to the sun, or some other deity, or to mundane daily events.

We have compiled this collection of photographs mainly to serve as a valuable educational resource. Contact curator@old-picture.com.
