Here we present an unusual photograph of Lieutenant General, the Honourable Sir James Yorke Scarlett, K.C.B. It was taken between 1855 and 1865 by Fenton, Roger, 1819-1869.

The picture shows General Scarlett sitting on horse facing left and Colonel Lowe standing in front of horse facing right, with bell tents in the background.
