Here we present an historic image of Westover Landing, Virginia Colonel William W. Averell, 3d Pennsylvania Cavalry, and staff. It was taken in 1862 by Gardner, Alexander, 1821-1882.

The image shows Photograph from the main eastern theater of war, the Peninsular Campaign, May-August 1862. Left to right: Lt. W. H. Brown, 5th U.S. Cavalry; Lt. H. H. King, 3d Pennsylvania Cavalry; Colonel Averell; Lt. Phillip Pollard, 3rd Pennsylvania Cavalry.
