Here for your consideration is a distressing photograph of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania; Dead Confederate soldier in Devil's Den. It was made in 1863 by Gardner, Alexander, 1821-1882.

The photo illustrates the main eastern theater of the war, Gettysburg, June-July, 1863. Shows a Casualty of the Battle of Gettysburg.
