Here for your browsing pleasure is an imposing photo of Antietam, Maryland; Allan Pinkerton (secret service and founder of Pinkerton Detective Agency), President Lincoln, and Major General John A. McClernand. Lincoln is pictured outdoors wearing a Top Hat. It was made in 1862 by Gardner, Alexander, 1821-1882.

The illustration documents main eastern theater of the war, Battle of Antietam, September-October 1862.
