Here we present a rare image of James River, Virginia Monitor U.S.S. Onondaga; soldiers in rowboat in foreground. It was taken in 1864.

The image shows Photographs of the Federal Navy, and seaborne expeditions against the Atlantic Coast of the Confederacy -- the Federal Navy, 1861-1865.
