You are looking at a beautiful picture of Keedysville, Maryland,vicinity. Confederate wounded at Smith's Barn, with Dr. Anson Hurd, 14th Indiana Volunteers, in attendance. It was created in 1862 by Gardner, Alexander, 1821-1882.

The picture presents the main eastern theater of the war, Battle of Antietam, September-October 1862. Photograph of Confederate wounded after the Battle of Antietam, Dr. A. Hurd, 14th Indiana Infantry in attendance.
