Here we present a rare image of Brandy Station, Virginia Field hospital of the 1st Division, 2d Corps. It was taken in 1864 by Gardner, James, b. 1832.

The image shows main eastern theater of the war, winter quarters at Brandy Station, December 1863-April 1864.
