Here for your perusal is a photograph of Washington, D.C.; Coffins and open graves ready for the Lincoln Assassination conspirators' bodies at right of scaffold. Gallows are partially visible in the left of the picture. It was created in 1865 by Gardner, Alexander, 1821-1882.

The photo illustrates Washington, 1862-1865, the assassination of President Lincoln, April-July 1865.
