Here for your perusal is a highly creative photograph of Washington, D.C. Georgetown ferry-boat carrying wagons, and Aqueduct Bridge beyond, from rocks on Mason's Island. It was created between 1860 and 1865 by Barnard, George N., 1819-1902.

The photo illustrates Washington, 1862-1865, the capital at war.
