Cost of War

Dead Union and Confederate Civil War Soldiers

Above we show a stunning photo of a Confederate and Union soldier laying dead, side by side, in a trench. It was made in 1865.

The illustration documents the main eastern theater of war, the siege of Petersburg, June 1864-April 1865.

We have compiled this collection of artwork mainly to serve as a vital educational resource. Contact curator@old-picture.com.
