Here we present a dramatic image of James River, Virginia Bow of Confederate gunboat Teaser, Lieutenant Hunter Davidson, captured by U.S.S. Maratanza on July 4, 1862. It was taken in 1862 by Gibson, James F., b. 1828.

The image shows the Federal Navy, and seaborne expeditions against the Atlantic Coast of the Confederacy -- the Federal Navy, 1861-1865.
