A Must Read for Any Parent

Frances Perkins

Frances Perkins

Here for your enjoyment is a beautiful photo of Perkins, Frances. It was taken between 1905 and 1945 by Harris & Ewing.

The illustration presents Perkins, who was Secretary of Labor between 1933 and 1945. She was the first woman to be a member of the U.S. Cabinet. As a supporter of Franklin D. Roosevelt, she helped pull the labor movement into the New Deal. She and Harold Ickes were the only original members of the Roosevelt cabinet who remained in offices for the entire FDR presidency
