Here for your consideration is an old picture of Tom Sopwith, who was an English aviation pioneer as well as a celebrated yachtsman. He founded The Sopwith Aviation Company, which was an aircraft company in England that designed and manufactured airplanes for the British Royal Flying Corps, Royal Naval Air Service and later Royal Air Force in the First World War. It was most famous for creating the the legendary "Sopwith Camel". Sopwith aircraft were also used in varying numbers by the French, Belgian and American air services during the World War I.
